VI Peel Chemical Peel

Medical-grade chemical peel for dramatic skin transformation

Overview

The VI Peel is a medical-grade chemical peel that delivers powerful skin resurfacing results with minimal discomfort and manageable downtime. At Jade Aesthetics in Wheaton, IL, we offer the full range of VI Peel formulations — including VI Peel Original, VI Peel Precision Plus, VI Peel Purify, and VI Peel Advanced — so we can match the right peel to your specific skin concerns.

VI Peels use a synergistic blend of trichloroacetic acid (TCA), salicylic acid, phenol, retinoic acid, and vitamin C to penetrate the skin at a controlled depth. This combination stimulates collagen production, accelerates cell turnover, and targets concerns like sun damage, melasma, acne scarring, fine lines, and rough texture. Unlike older-generation peels that could be unpredictable and harsh, the VI Peel is designed to be safe and effective for all skin types and tones, including darker complexions.

Clients throughout DuPage County and the Chicago suburbs choose our Wheaton med spa for VI Peels because our experienced team takes the time to evaluate your skin, select the ideal formulation, and guide you through the at-home post-peel process. The result is a smoother, clearer, and more youthful complexion that continues to improve for weeks after your treatment at Jade Aesthetics.

What to Expect

1

Skin Evaluation

Your provider assesses your skin type, tone, and specific concerns to determine the most appropriate VI Peel formulation and ensure you are a good candidate for the treatment.

2

Skin Preparation

The treatment area is cleansed and degreased to ensure the peel solution makes even, effective contact with the skin surface.

3

Peel Application

The VI Peel solution is applied in two layers. You may feel a mild tingling or warm sensation during application, which typically subsides within a few minutes as the solution self-neutralizes.

4

Post-Peel Instructions

You are given a VI Peel take-home kit with detailed instructions. The peel remains on your skin for four to six hours before you wash it off at home, and you will use the provided aftercare products over the following days.

5

Peeling Phase

Over the next three to seven days, your skin will peel naturally. You will apply the post-peel towelettes and repair cream from your take-home kit to support the healing process.

Is This Right for You?

The VI Peel is ideal for patients who want to address moderate to significant skin concerns such as sun damage, melasma, acne scarring, enlarged pores, fine lines, or rough and uneven texture. It is a particularly strong choice for individuals with darker skin tones who may not be candidates for more aggressive laser treatments.

VI Peels are not recommended for patients with active cold sores, open wounds, or those who are pregnant or nursing. If you use isotretinoin (Accutane), you must have been off the medication for at least six months before receiving a peel.

Aftercare

  • Leave the peel on for four to six hours as instructed before washing off with a gentle cleanser
  • Use only the products provided in your VI Peel take-home kit during the peeling phase
  • Do not pick, pull, or scratch peeling skin — allow it to shed naturally
  • Avoid direct sun exposure and apply SPF 30 or higher at all times during the healing process
  • Skip intense exercise, saunas, and swimming pools for five to seven days
  • Avoid retinoids, exfoliating acids, and active skincare ingredients until peeling is complete

Results & Timeline

Peeling typically begins on day two or three and continues through day five to seven. During this time, you may notice sheets or flakes of skin shedding, which is completely normal and indicates the peel is working as intended.

Once peeling is complete, your skin will appear noticeably smoother, brighter, and more even in tone. Collagen remodeling continues beneath the surface for several weeks, so your results will improve progressively over one to two months. For optimal outcomes, a series of three to four peels spaced four to six weeks apart is recommended.
